The A.I.S.E. Charter for Sustainable Cleaning remains a driving force for advancing sustainability practices across our industry

The latest performance report – which is going to be unveiled at the SEPAWA Congress (16-18 October 2024) – highlights the industry’s continued leadership in securing a sustainable future, showing measurable improvements achieved by Charter member companies.

Based on data from 2023, the report includes contributions from 114 companies and covers 191 manufacturing sites, representing a production volume of 11.6 million tonnes—accounting for 97.3% of the total output from reporting companies across the EU, EFTA, and the UK.

Thanks to its ambitions, the A.I.S.E. Charter, which covers the economic, environmental and social pillars of sustainability, contributes directly to the objectives of the EU Green Deal :

• The trend of ‘absolute decoupling’ of production from energy use and CO2 emissions in our industry goes on. As production increases, CO2 emissions and energy use decrease, and the gap widens year on year as production becomes less resource intensive.
• Our industry moves closer to “No net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050” objective, showing 45.6% reduction in CO2 emissions, and 45% decrease in energy consumption.
• Through the A.I.S.E. Social Responsibility Guidance, Charter members get help to implement social responsibility, ensuring no person and no place is left behind.
