Policy Priorities
Why join
Detergents Europe has represented the detergents and maintenance products industry across Europe since 1952. Membership of the association is open to companies and national associations active all along the industry value chain. This includes suppliers of products and services for cleaning, disinfection and maintenance in the homecare and commercial sectors, suppliers of ingredients and national associations.
Detergents Europe offers three categories of membership designed to suit the needs of the industry, from SMEs to large corporations and across the whole continent.
National associations
Industry associations representing the cleaning and maintenance products sector can become Ordinary Members if they are based in the EU and/or EFTA. Industry associations based outside the EU and/or EFTA can become Extra-Ordinary Members.
Corporate members
Companies manufacturing cleaning or maintenance products can become Ordinary Corporate Members or Supporting Corporate Members if they operate in the EU and/or EFTA.
Associate members
Companies or organisations active along the value chain of the cleaning and maintenance industry can become Associate Members – this includes suppliers, retailers and appliance manufacturers, provided that they are based in the EU and/or EFTA.
Benefits of belonging to the Detergents Europe network
The cleaning and hygiene products industry plays a central role in delivering these objectives in practice. Its portfolio includes detergents and cleaning products, disinfectants, as well as insecticides and repellents used to control harmful organisms and support hygiene and public health. These products are used daily in homes, hospitals, food production, public transport and many other environments where hygiene, infection prevention and the control of pests and vectors are critical.
